Corrections Policy

Right2Carry aims to correct material factual errors clearly and promptly after verification. This policy applies to the publication’s reporting and educational resources.

Report a concern

Use the Contact page to check the availability of the verified reporting route. Include the article URL, the specific statement in question, and a reliable source explaining the issue. Do not send sensitive personal information. Contact submissions are unavailable until the receiving service has been tested.

Review the evidence

An editor should check the original wording and its sources, consult the relevant primary authority, and assess whether the issue changes the substance of the article. A disagreement with an opinion is distinct from a factual error.

Make substantive corrections visible

For a material factual correction, update the affected wording and add a dated note identifying what changed. Preserve the original publication date and record the actual update date. If an article cannot be supported, explain the withdrawal rather than silently replacing it with unrelated content.

Minor edits and changing facts

Spelling, formatting, or other minor edits that do not change meaning may be fixed without a correction note. A new development is an update, not necessarily a correction; distinguish the two. State legal resources should be re-reviewed when their underlying authority changes.

Record keeping

Keep an internal record of the affected URL, original claim, supporting evidence, revised wording, reviewing editor, and correction date. Avoid promising a response time that has not been established.
