House Bill 133 (HB 133) is a recodification of Utah’s existing firearm laws. This legislation makes Utah’s current gun laws easier to read and understand while making several clarifying policy changes to ensure the protection of Second Amendment rights for all of Utah’s law-abiding gun owners.

Additionally, on January 31st, the Senate Natural Resources Committee voted 5-1 against Senate Bill 130, a 52-page anti-gun omnibus bill that would have severely restricted Second Amendment Rights in Utah. If passed, SB 130 would have banned semi-automatic firearms, standard capacity magazines, imposed waiting periods to purchase a firearm, required government registration of certain firearms, plus more. Thank you to all NRA members and Second Amendment supporters that contacted members of the committee to urge their opposition!
