BOISE — Governor Brad Little announced the appointment of Andrew Arulanandam as the new director of the Idaho Lottery and the Idaho State Liquor Division. Arulanandam will take over following the retirement of Jeff Anderson, who had led both agencies until July.

Arulanandam comes to the role after working for over two decades at the national level, including a recent position as interim chief executive officer and executive vice president of the National Rifle Association (NRA). He has worked with the NRA for more than 24 years in public affairs and media relations. His previous experience includes time in the Office of Governor Phil Batt and as Finance Director for Batt’s campaign for Governor. He is also a past executive director of the Idaho Republican Party and a graduate of Boise State University.

In his new position, Arulanandam will lead two agencies that generate significant economic activity for Idaho. In 2023, the Idaho Lottery and Idaho State Liquor Division returned over $210 million to support state programs such as schools and infrastructure.
